I was there three weeks ago and couldn’t agree with you more about the atmosphere. Chauchilla has stayed in my head ever since. And out of all the places I visited during a four week tour of Colombia and Peru, Chauchilla had had the most powerful effect on me. It is also the place I most want to return to.
